A Jet Airways flight which took off from London to Mumbai flight on Boeing 777 scared 324 passengers onboard. The incident occurred on New Year’s Day where a male pilot slapped his female colleague and she left the cockpit crying. The cabin crew tried to assist the female pilot but hopes were lost as she would not return to the cockpit.
The male pilot repeatedly used the intercom to ask for the second pilot to come back. A news report has cited that the pilot flying the plane left the cockpit also which violated the safety rules. The male pilot thought it was a good idea to leave the cockpit empty so that he can persuade the co-pilot to come back.
The cabin crew became even more worried after she returned to the cockpit and came back a second time crying. The passengers were worried about their life and the co-pilot eventually returned back to the cockpit for the second time.
An investigation was launched on the incident and the two pilots were grounded pending an internal investigation.
“At Jet Airways, safety of guests, crew and assets is of paramount importance and the airline has zero tolerance for any action of its employees that compromises safety,” the spokesman said.
